We have a great team...
Balham Rainbow Nursery is staffed by people who love children and are committed to facilitating their safety, development and happiness.
Everyone on our enthusiastic and dedicated team is either fully qualified or actively working towards a recognised childcare qualification, and many also have specialist certification in areas like Child Protection, First Aid and Food Hygiene.
We are committed to providing opportunities for our staffs' own learning and development, and host regular in house training sessions. All of our care providers are given continuous support and mentorship, and we keep track of progress and ensure quality is maintained via monthly reviews and observations.
Our recruitment process seeks the very best practitioners available. All of our permanent staff hold at least a Level 3 qualification in childcare, and over half have degrees in a relevant discipline. Below you can find a brief bio for each of our management team.
Suzanne
Manager
Suzanne has many years' experience in childcare around the world, having passed her BTEC in 2002 with Distinction and followed up with numerous vocational qualifications. She joined us in 2015 as our first employee, back when the nursery was still a building site! Two years later she diversified her experience further by becoming mum to a lovely little boy. Her hobbies include travel, eating out and a passion for arts and crafts - which translates into fantastic activities for the nursery!
Lynn
Deputy Manager
Lynn joined in May 2016 as Deputy Manager, and doubles up as Preschool Room Manager. She's worked with children aged 0-11 since 1996, and has an Advanced Diploma in Childcare and Education, a National Nursery Examination Board diploma and is also a qualified assessor. Outside of the nursery Lynn is a competitive Latin and ballroom dancer representing the UK at national level, and she teaches weekend dance classes for young children as well as dance and movement sessions here at the nursery.
Alicia
Room Manager - Under 2s
Alicia joined us in July 2017 after being recommended by one of our parents. She was hired as a Practitioner and quickly promoted to Room Manager in recognition of her excellent skills. Alicia has worked in the childcare sector for over 10 years, in addition to having two children of her own. She holds NVQ Level 2/3 and Management Level 3 qualifications. When not working, she likes to travel and spend time with her family.
Fatima
Room Manager - Early Learners
Fatima joined us in January 2017 and was promoted to Room Manager in October 2017. She originates from Spain where she achieved a BA in Primary Education, worked for two years as a primary school teacher and also trained as a special educational needs (SEN) teacher. She then moved to London to work as a nanny and teaching assistant, making great use of her extensive training.
